What does Botox do to the erectile tissues of your penis?

Botox has been made famous for its use in aesthetic medicine and its anti-wrinkle properties. However its first use and still widely used today, was its ability to treat medical disorders. The drug principally works by relaxing muscles.

In order to obtain an erection your erectile tissues (corpora cavernosa) which contain thousands of sinusoids (mini hollow cavities) must adequately fill with blood and become engorged, creating pressure and firmness.

One of the main anatomical structures which is responsible for the filling of the sinusoids is the smooth muscle around them. When you obtain an erection, the smooth muscles become relaxed and allows more blood to flow in and fill the sinusoids.

Botox works by reducing tonicity of the smooth muscle by reducing the strength of their contractions. This allows a more profound relaxation of the smooth muscle allowing greater flow of blood and increased pressure within your erectile tissues. Does it hurt?

The treatment is virtually painless. We use a very fine needle to injection the product. We can also offer you local anaesthetic / numbing agent before the treatment to further improve your comfort.

How long does the XYTOX procedure take?

Please allow for 30-45 minutes for full consultation, medical history, numbing time and procedure.

Why don’t I just continue to use medication like viagra?

Viagra works in approximately 60% of men only. It provides a temporary fix to the underlying concern.

Can this treatment help with erection quality?

There are many well documented studies which demonstrate how this injection can help improve erection quality. Whilst not currently an approved treatment and its use is limited as an off license indication, the results have been statistically significant. Do I still have to take pills like cialis and viagra?

Many of our clients who use poor erection medication find that after XYTOX treatment, they have reduced the need to use them at all and significantly reduce the dose they need to obtain spontaneous erections. Viagra works only on nitric oxide, not at improving the health of your tissues.
